Premier Prix 1991 at Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, class of Professor Marco Costantini, Premier Prix 1999 for baroque and classical basson, Professor Alberto Grazzi in Milan.

Principal bassoon at leading Italian Orchestras, such as Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. He collaborated with Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bamberger Symphoniker, Bremen Kammerphilharmonie, Gran Teatre del Liceu Symphony Orchestra , Luzern Festival Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

He performs with outstanding ensembles for ancient music: The English Concert with Trevor Pinnock, Il Giardino Armonico with Giovanni Antonini, La Petite Bande with Sigiswald Kuikjen, Europa Galante with Fabio Biondi, La Grande Ecurie et La Chambre de Roi, L’Orchestre de Nations with Jordi Savall, Concerto Italiano with Rinaldo Alessandrini. Member of the Ensemble Zefiro, wind ensemble on period instruments, and Quintette Moraguès, the oldest French wind quintet. He recorded for Virgin Records, Calliope, Stradivarius and Bongiovanni, as well as the Italian and French National Radio and Radio Vatican.

He actively partecipates at musical life and teaching in Catalunya, being regularly invited at ESMUC Escola Superior de Musica de Catalunya and at JONC Jove Orchestra National de Catalunya.

Giorgio Mandolesi is now Bassoon Solo at Orchestre de Paris, Professor of Historical and Modern Bassoon at ZHdK-Zurcher Hochschule der Kunste, Professor of Historical Bassoon at Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et Danse de Paris, Guest Professor at PESMD Bordeaux Aquitaine, Guest Professor at Liceu in Barcelona and Guest Professor at Royal College of Music in London and is regularly invited to take masterclasses all over the world.
